Your Dream Doodle Awaits At Hidden Road Doodles

Our Journey: The Story of Hidden Road Doodles

When We Began

We got our first dog in 2009 shortly after getting married. She was a chocolate Lab. Not long after, we added a Golden Retriever and started raising Goldendoodles and Labradoodles. At that time, we only worked with standard sizes.

In 2012, we brought in a few Mini Goldendoodles and began raising both minis and standards. Over time, demand shifted toward smaller dogs that fit more homes and lifestyles.

In 2019, we built our own website so we could better serve families and keep things organized. By 2020, we transitioned fully to minis because that is where the demand was strongest and it fit our program best.

Today, we raise:

  • Mini Goldendoodles
  • Mini Bernedoodles

Our Mini Goldendoodles are F1B crosses (mini female crossed with a Poodle). Our Mini Bernedoodles are multigenerational.

Who We Are

We are a family of six living in rural Ohio.

My name is Henry, and I raise our puppies alongside my wife Dorothy and our children Ryan, Amanda, Jaylon, and Jamima.

Our family also carries the memory of our son, Derrick, who passed away from cancer at 2 1/2 years old in 2018. That loss shaped our family in a lasting way and deepened how we value care, time together, and the joy animals bring into a home.

We live out in the country, where there is space for dogs to grow and play. Each of us has a role in raising and socializing the puppies so they are handled daily and introduced to people from the start.

Our Family Home

Why We Raise Doodles

We picked the puppies we raise because they make strong family pets. They are known for being intelligent, friendly, and easy to train. Many families also choose them for their low-shedding coats.

They adapt well to different homes, including smaller spaces and city living, as long as they get regular attention and exercise.

From the start, we stay involved in raising each puppy so they are handled often and introduced to daily interaction with people.

Our Mission

Our goal is to raise healthy, well-socialized puppies and make the process clear and positive for families.

We focus on:

  • Good nutrition for our puppies and parent dogs
  • Early socialization from birth
  • Routine veterinary care
  • Raising puppies that adjust well to family life

By the time they leave, our puppies are used to being handled and are comfortable around people and everyday activity.

How We Raise Our Puppies

Each puppy receives hands-on care from birth, including early handling, socialization, and regular health care.

Before going home, puppies are:

  • Dewormed
  • Vaccinated according to age
  • Vet checked
  • Socialized daily

Most of our parent dogs are genetically tested, and many are OFA certified when they are old enough. This helps us focus on healthy, well-bred puppies.

All puppies leave up to date on vaccines and deworming. Microchipping is available upon request, and we send home starter puppy food.

Our adult dogs are registered through ICA, AKC, or ACA depending on the dog.

We use Poodle crosses in our program to help produce low-shedding coats and support consistent temperament and health across generations.

Bringing Your Puppy Home

Families are welcome to schedule visits to meet available puppies when possible.

We also offer a reliable delivery option for families who are not local.

Before pickup or delivery, each puppy is:

  • Vet checked
  • Up to date on vaccines and deworming
  • Prepared for the transition into a home environment

Our goal is to make the process simple and give you a puppy that is ready to settle into family life.
