Dear Future Best Friend: A Letter from a Doodle

Hi! My name’s Maple, and I’m a Mini Goldendoodle here at Hidden Road Doodles in the beautiful countryside of Ohio. I’m just a few weeks old, but I’ve already got lots of stories to tell! I thought I’d write you this letter from a Doodle so you can see what life is like for a puppy like me before I go to my forever home.

So grab a snack (I recommend bacon-flavored treats), and let me walk you through my day!

Morning Snuggles and Sunshine

Each day starts with a soft voice calling us good morning, usually Dorothy or one of the kids. I stretch, yawn, and wiggle out of my cozy puppy bed. The air smells like fresh hay, early dew, and breakfast. Mmm!

We all get a check from our humans to make sure we’re looking and feeling our best. They’ve been doing this since the day we were born. Henry and Dorothy really care about keeping us healthy. Our tummies stay full with top-quality food, and our fur stays soft thanks to the good care we get. And let me tell you, tummy rubs are definitely part of the daily routine.

This is what Goldendoodles snuggling looks like in Letter from a Doodle.

Midday Mayhem (aka Playtime!)

After breakfast, it’s time to play! My brothers and sisters and I love to chase each other through the grass. Sometimes we go exploring tunnels or chew on rubber balls (the plastic-coated ones are our favorite!).

But playtime isn’t just fun; it’s also training. We start learning important things early, like how to follow a voice, sit still for cuddles, and be gentle with tiny humans. The big kids, Ryan, Amanda, Jaylon, and Jamima, spend time with us every day. I love when Jaylon plays peekaboo behind the barn door. It always gets my tail wagging!

Afternoon Lessons and Puppy School

Once we’ve run around and worn out some of our puppy energy, we settle in for “school.” Henry says we’re F1B puppies, which means my mom is a Mini Goldendoodle and my dad is a Poodle. That makes us pretty smart, if I do say so myself, and we pick up new things quickly.

We learn simple commands and even start getting used to things like crate training and walking on a leash. Our humans work hard to get us ready for life outside the farm, whether that’s city living or country adventures.

Evening Snuggles and Sweet Dreams

After dinner, we’re sleepy again. Some of us curl up in laps, others stretch out in our blankets. The humans always check us one last time, making sure we’re safe, full, and happy. Sometimes Dorothy hums while tidying up, and it makes the whole barn feel peaceful and warm.

Before I close my eyes, I think about where I’ll go next. Henry says each of us has a special family waiting. Some live nearby and come to visit us on the farm. Others live far away, but that’s okay. There’s a delivery service called Furry Trails that brings us straight to your arms.

Evening Snuggles

Dear Future Family…

I’ve been loved, cuddled, and cared for since the moment I was born. I’ve had the best nutrition, vet checkups, and even deworming, not my favorite part, but it keeps me healthy. I’ve played in the grass, licked faces, and been kissed by sunshine every day.

Now I’m ready for my next big adventure: Life with you!

So whether you live in a big city apartment or a cozy little house in the woods, just know I’ll be by your side, ready to love, learn, and grow with you every single day.

With tail wags and puppy kisses,
 ~ Maple
